Join our dynamic editorial team: We are currently seeking a talented Staff Writer to join our Valencia Secreta and Barcelona Secreta team!

What You’ll Do

• Writing engaging, precise, and informative articles promptly on various topics for Valencia Secreta and Barcelona Secreta websites. The articles go from breaking news to evergreen lists and interesting stories about our cities.
• Creating social media posts adapted to different formats and platforms (especially Facebook and Instagram).
• Finding and handling viral third-party content and potential collaborations with other content creators on social media.
• Ensuring all posts are SEO-friendly (SEO training provided!).
• Ensuring all website copy and headlines adhere to our editorial standards and style guide.
• Supporting promotional efforts and collaborations across SMN when required (as communicated by your manager).

 

Who You Are

We're seeking someone who:

• Has 3-5 years of experience
• Has native-level proficiency in written and spoken Spanish and fluent English.
• Has a proficient level of Catalan, Valencian or both.
• Knows Valencia like the palm of their hand, and loves the city!
• Has demonstrable prior experience in digital writing and social media posting.
• Has recent knowledge and experience on SEO.
• Possesses a keen understanding of what makes a story shareable on social media.
• Is highly familiar with social and digital publishing tools (WordPress, Canva, Later, etc.).
• Approaches beat management with organization and precision.
• Is an expert in culture and entertainment, with a deep understanding of city lifestyle, culture, food, and art scenes.
