Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (MS) has an opening for a Staff Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Band 5) to join our Advanced Systems and Technology (AS&T) Operating Unit which is a part of the Mission Next (MNX) Division. This role will focus on fast-paced proposals, as well as being a subject matter expert capable of team training for Pathways to Band 4 teammates!  This is a hybrid role out of our Linthicum, MD site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead quick-turn, complex proposal efforts; ensure compliant submissions and support peers and program teams with proposal guidance.

  • Serve as the GSC program planning and financial forecasting SME; define and execute material strategy aligned to program objectives.

  • Provide hands-on leadership by delivering team training, mentoring planners, serving as team lead, and briefing leadership clearly and confidently.

  • Own material cost/performance management by forecasting, tracking, and reporting using enterprise tools (e.g., Material Receipt Tool, CMEs, IPRS, RTG) and providing training/support to peers.

  • Perform CAM responsibilities and manage Earned Value (EV) to plan.

  • Lead make/buy decisions and long-range capacity planning; manage product phase-in/phase-out, ramp-up, and end-of-life transitions.

  • Apply MRP to analyze requirements and set inventory levels based on dependent and independent BOMs.

  • Create and release requisitions with deep expertise in the M922/M903 process; review and process non-standard part requirements and shop order releases.

  • Analyze lead times, identify critical-path procurements, and mitigate schedule risk.

  • Provide onsite, in-person support in cleared areas as required.

  • Make sound, timely decisions; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and agile adherence to regulated-industry compliance protocols.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 12 years of experience in supply chain management, subcontracts, supplier management, procurement, or project management; OR a master’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in these areas.

  • Experience with supply chain proposal activities.

  • Experience in FAR and DFARS compliance.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Financial background in Earned Value Management (EVM), Return to Green, material forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Experience with SAP, MES, or related systems.

  • Material management experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools, including Material Cost Account Visibility (MCAV), WEBI Replenishments, and Cognos.

  • People leadership experience.

  • Experience delivering team-wide training programs.

  • CAM experience and certification.

  • Active Secret and/or Top Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,700.00 - $209,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
