We are looking for a Staff Engineer, Embedded Software Verification, to join our Software & Digital Platforms Group (SDP) in Valencia, Spain, working on intelligent power management products for datacenters.


About the Role
As Staff Engineer, Embedded Software Verification
, you will build and lead verification efforts for software developed for datacenter products, including firmware, APIs, tools and services. You will develop comprehensive verification strategies, drive test automation, and work closely with cross-functional and geo-distributed teams to ensure the quality and reliability of software releases for cutting-edge embedded systems that drive next-generation intelligent power management for datacenters.

This is a hands-on role where you will partner with stakeholders to understand product requirements, incorporate testability into software designs, and communicate test status, risks, and results clearly to drive timely, high-quality releases.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Interact with stakeholders and understand product requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, aligning with project goals.
  • Define the scope, objectives, resources, and schedule for testing activities.
  • Work with software architects to incorporate testability into the software products.
  • Work with board design / system teams to define test platforms for the product.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and implement appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Execute tests and analyze results to identify defects and issues.
  • Check quality of software releases and verify/sign-off against acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare and present test reports, summarizing test results, findings, and recommendations.
  • Provide feedback to developers on identified issues and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate test status and progress to stakeholders.
  • Promote and implement software industry best practices and tools.
  • Lead and mentor the test team, providing guidance and support to junior testers.
  • Ensure the quality and reliability of software releases through rigorous verification processes.


Minimum candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in embedded systems or software testing.
  • 5+ years experience in test architecture and design definition.
  • 5+ years hands on experience in developing test code for software systems using Python and PyTest.
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD tool environments such as Jenkins/Github Actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of signal processing concepts such as Filters, Fast Fourier Transforms, Harmonic Distortion, etc.


Desirable additional skills and experience:
 

  • Familiarity with electronic power control systems.
  • Proficient with project management related tools such as MS Project, Jama, Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in software development with C/C++.
  • Experience with Agile workflows such as Scrum or Kanban.
