About Us
At SentinelOne, we’re redefining cybersecurity by pushing the limits of what’s possible—leveraging AI-powered, data-driven innovation to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threats.
From building industry-leading products to cultivating an exceptional company culture, our core values guide everything we do. We’re looking for passionate individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to drive impact. If you’re excited about solving complex challenges in bold, innovative ways, we’d love to connect with you.
What are we looking for?
Our engineering team is responsible for the backend of SentinelOne’s on-prem version of our flagship Endpoint Protection product, a mission-critical security platform, deployed in customer-controlled environments. You will play a key role in the design, scale, and evolution of the on-prem product, ensuring that capabilities align with the operational, deployment, and reliability constraints of customer-controlled environments, while also contributing to on-prem specific development. Your work will have a significant impact on the business with some of our largest customers from the enterprise and government/public sectors, who operate under strict security guardrails or in regulated industries.
You will join a growing team that owns core backend components, data pipelines, internal services, and the control logic between endpoint agents (protection installed on laptops, servers, desktops etc. of various operating systems) and the on-prem management server. This role requires strong backend engineering skills, an understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to build reliable and predictable software for environments that vary in scale and deployment environments.
What will you do?
- Design, develop, and support backend systems that enable on-prem endpoint security
- Adapt and translate SaaS solutions to on-prem architecture, including data flows, APIs, services, and control logic
- Plan and document new features, including design proposals and interface definitions
- Design and evolve database schemas for new and existing components
- Develop and maintain backend services using Go and Python (containerized microservices), including internal APIs, data processing flows, and integration points
- Support validation cycles, ensure reliability, and contribute to high-quality, secure releases
- Optimize performance, resource usage, and robustness for customer-controlled environments
- Work with the product management team to turn requirements into technical solutions suitable for on-prem deployment
- Use AI tools to accelerate design, development, validation and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with product, validation, support, and other engineering teams
- Work closely with support teams to analyze and resolve issues in diverse customer environments
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following best practices for secure and reliable software development
- Take ownership of features from design to release, and long-term maintenance
- Contribute ideas related to scale, architecture, reliability, and simplifying the translation of SaaS capabilities to on-prem
Your main tools: Python and Golang, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, Docker, Linux, and GitHub. To enable you in your work, we provide company access to various modern AI-powered tools for both R&D and non-R&D tasks.
What skills and knowledge should you bring?
- A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Several years of experience with Python and-or Go or similar languages
- Ability to quickly understand complex products, architectures, and data flows
- Experience with distributed systems and backend development
- Self-driven and comfortable taking ownership
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with product, support, and engineering peers
- Experience with Docker and Linux
- A plus would be experience with Kubernetes and cloud environments, and with security products or on-prem deployments (strong advantage)
