About the Role

The PJ (Business Account) team is a rapidly scaling unit within Nubank. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join this high-impact team, strategically helping the growth in Brazil and beyond.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of Product and Platform. While we are a business-focused team dedicated to moving core metrics, you will also navigate global platform challenges. 

We are looking for a resourceful engineer. Someone who is excited by broad, complex problems and has the eagerness to expand our market share in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of scalable systems that power the PJ app experience for millions of business customers.
  • Partner with Global Platform teams to integrate core services while maintaining a product-driven focus.
  • Drive business outcomes by translating entrepreneur-specific challenges into robust, high-performance software solutions.
  • Maintain technical excellence within the team through architectural discussions, code reviews, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across different Business Units to ensure seamless integration and a unified customer experience.

 

Required qualifications

  • Ideally, has experience in Flutter and mobile architecture, and is equally comfortable navigating Clojure/BDC backend systems, from authentication flows and token management to BDC expressions and backend providers
  • Wants to own the architectural vision for how PJ customers access, navigate, and experience their business finances, shaping decisions that will define how PJ scales across products, segments, and countries
  • Can hold the platform and product tension simultaneously, thinking in systems while staying close to the customer experience, because the foundations you design directly determine what AXP can build and how fast they can ship
  • Has a track record of driving alignment on hard architectural problems across multiple teams and stakeholders, bringing clarity to spaces where the path forward is genuinely unclear
  • Wants to work on a horizontal, high-visibility role where your technical decisions have reach well beyond your own squad, influencing how authentication, app experience, and platform infrastructure evolve across PJ and Nubank
  • Thrives in ambiguous, long-horizon initiatives and is energized by the challenge of defining what good looks like, not just executing against a spec

 

Location & Work Model

This role can be based in our offices in São Paulo and Campinas (Brazil) in a hybrid model (2x per week in the office), or according to current policies for the PJ team.
