Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer that will lead a cross-discipline engineering team, manage the one of the largest cost accounts on one of the largest programs at NGMS, and interface with Engineering & Program Management. The selected candidates will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.
As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer (Integrated Product Team Lead) within the Software and Digital Technologies Organization you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Using Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during the EMD phase
Lead staffing efforts for each team, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage
Plan and coordinate bench time priorities across engineering program initiatives
Manage and maintain Jira boards to track progress and issues, documenting and resolving blockers impacting team performance
Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
Maintain and communicate capability delivery schedules
Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
Brief internal and external customer leadership on progress of work assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience, Master’s degree with 10 years of experience, Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required
Active DoD Secret Clearance required
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start
5 years of experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects
Experience working in C/C++
Proficiency in working with real-time embedded software.
Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on an EMD program as a systems or software engineer
Demonstrated knowledge of radar mode development
Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
Experience with Atlassian tool suite
Proficient in using advance MS Excel macros, functions, and pivots

Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
