Staff Quality Engineer

The Role:  

Forge’s quality engineering team’s charter is to improve product quality. We thrive on holding high standards, obsessing over our customers, and living our values of being bold, humble and accountable.

We are seeking a Staff Quality Engineer with at least 8 years of experience owning and delivering quality for large complex financial trading systems. This role will work on our trading team. We are looking for a senior, technical and customer focused candidate who will also embody Forge values. The ideal candidate thrives in team settings and is motivated by creating success all around them through strong communication, shipping great product experiences, and making data-driven decision

Location: This position is remote in Denver, CO. We intend to open an office in Denver and once we do, we will require hybrid attendance onsite at least 9 days each month.

Responsibilities: 

  • Build comprehensive bottoms up Test Strategies for our platform services organization
  • Write tests plans covering various customer use cases – functional, compliance & legal aspects
  • Engage is projects from the initiation phase to identify gaps in requirement and failure modes in design
  • Be a force multiplier to help developers shift testing left
  • Automate tests based on what’s most valuable and high priority and help adopt best practices to improve code quality
  • Collaborate with Forge’s product, design, information security and business team members to quickly grasp domain knowledge.
  • Develop concise, articulate, and detailed documentation[RP1] [AD2] 
  • Participate in scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
  • Identify defect trends and partner with development teams to fix the root cause
  • Leverage artificial intelligence technologies to improve the impact and efficiency of testing

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 5 years software engineering experience)
  • 8-12 years of software testing experience
  • Fintech, Trading or Financial services industry experience
  • Experience in leading quality efforts for internet applications
  • Physical requirements: operate a computer for at least 8 hours per day; give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication

For residents of the Denver, CO area, the annual salary range for this role is $155,000 - $175,000 + annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
