About this opportunity:

The Conventional Operations team is seeking a Calgary‑based Staff Project Engineer to support the full‑field development of our Montney infrastructure program. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Engineering, this role is responsible for engineering leadership, project planning, execution excellence, and the delivery of safe, cost‑effective facilities solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality project outcomes while contributing to long‑term development strategies.

What you’ll do:

  • Champion safety and process safety, ensuring all engineering work meets internal and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the engineering and execution of new well equip and tie‑in projects, delivering safe, timely, and cost‑effective results.

  • Develop and steward full‑field Montney development plans, including alternative scenarios that support economic evaluations and decision quality.

  • Lead the engineering, project management, and execution of infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning.

  • Manage engineering consultants, EPC firms, vendors, and supply chain partners to deliver high‑quality designs and coordinated execution plans.

  • Oversee regulatory applications and licensing to ensure compliant, efficient project approvals.

  • Build and refine cost estimates, track project performance, and benchmark against industry peers.

  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA, with the ability to authenticate mechanical engineering deliverables.

  • 12+ years of experience in operations, facilities, or project engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry.

  • Strong knowledge and application of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, CSA Z662).

  • Solid understanding of upstream facility design, construction practices, and field‑level operational considerations.
