Staff Product Engineer, FPD Pumps

Role Summary:
The Product Engineer is responsible for accelerating the development and implementation of new leading-edge product technology throughout the pump product portfolio to provide a competitive advantage to the corporation.
This position will coordinate closely with the Engineering teams of FPD and S&S to prioritize the work with the business objectives and strategic initiatives of the operations.  In addition, this position will align with I&T to develop and execute product development programs for the pump product portfolio and incorporate the outcomes of technology development efforts into Flowserve products.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

-    Mechanical development in projects for Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps related to national and international directives and standards.

-    Evaluation and implementation of the required calculations for the optimal component design, e.g., for casings, piping, base frames, etc., in collaboration with the global Engineering hubs.

-    Application of design principles regarding standardized modules, configurability for eCPQ, and design in line with manufacturing and assembling requirements.

-    Preparation and review of the documents required for the standard products incl. accessories, such as material master data, bill of materials, 3D models and 2D drawings .

-    Preparation of the technical input for product documentation e.g., user instructions, service instructions, technical bulletin, P&ID etc.

-    Cross-departmental clarification of product-related problems, e.g., quality issues.

-    Handling of product-related tasks and projects within the scope of Corporate and Product Management requirements.

-    Support for product localization in terms of product requirements.

-    Contact person for Order Engineering and Commercial Operations for technical questions related to the products.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

-               Completed university degree in mechanical engineering or comparable.

-               Ideally several years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.

-               Experience within the rotating equipment industry or comparable.

-               Basic knowledge of ERP, PLM and CAD (preferred SolidWorks).

-               Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

-               Knowledge of internal and international practices & standards.

-               Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools.

-               Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems that meet business and stakeholder needs.

-               Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 15%) if any.

-               Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership.

-               Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time.

-               Strong oral and written English communication skills.
