Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer Temporal
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: CTO - Engineering Excellence Platform Engineering
Impact & contribution: As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and operate CBA’s Temporal platform. You will provide technical expertise, create patterns, and enable engineering teams to adopt Temporal efficiently and securely. This role requires strong platform engineering skills, hands-on development experience, and deep DevSecOps expertise.
Roles & responsibilities:
Platform Engineering & Ownership
Build, operate, and scale the Temporal platform ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
Develop platform tooling, automation, and reusable components using Go, Python, and Java.
Implement infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform) and automate CI/CD pipelines.
Lead high-level and low-level system design for distributed workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, and multi-tenant platform components.
Define architectural patterns, SLAs/SLOs, and scalability strategies for platform services.
Evaluate new technologies, design trade-offs, and influence architectural decisions across teams.
Ensure platform designs meet CBA’s security, compliance, and operational standards.
Tenant Enablement
Guide application teams with workflow design patterns, best practices, and onboarding to the Temporal platform.
Create reference architectures, templates, and documentation to accelerate adoption.
Reliability & DevSecOps
Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and performance testing for platform workloads.
Ensure secure-by-default practices, compliance controls, and operational excellence.
Technical Leadership
Lead engineering efforts independently and influence architectural decisions across teams.
Mentor engineers and uplift engineering maturity in distributed systems and cloud-native practices.
Essential skills:
Minimum 11 years of experience.
Strong programming expertise in Go, Python, and Java.
Experience with Temporal (developer or operator) is highly desirable.
Solid background in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native systems.
Strong DevSecOps experience: CI/CD, security automation, artifact management.
Hands-on experience with IaC tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).
Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems and APIs.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership abilities.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
