Salary:                 £37,875 - £46,581.47 (Depending upon experience)

Hours:                  37.5 per week 

Location:            33 Grosvenor Place, London 

Contract:            Full time, permanent position

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Staff Nurse to join our PACU team with a highly competitive salary range up to £46,581.47 depending upon experience.

This full-time, permanent position would require the postholder to work 3 x 11.5 hour shifts per week and 2 x 9 hour shifts within a 6 week period.

This is a Monday - Saturday, Days and Weekends role with shifts within the following hours:

07:00 – 22:00

You will be expected to work past 22:00 as overtime if elective cases are not completed before then.

The 20-bay Post Anaesthetic Care Unit provides enhanced care of patients throughout the immediate postoperative period. We provide expert anaesthesia recovery nursing in the care of post-surgical Neuro/Spine, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Upper/Lower GI, Urology, Head & Neck, ENT, Gynaecology, Plastics and Bariatric Surgery. They also support Interventional Cardiology/Radiology and Endoscopy for their post-procedural/anaesthesia care needs.

What will your duties include:

  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of patient care whilst ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge within the PACU.

  • Recognises, responds to and appropriately manages emergency situations.

  • Carry out the following nursing procedure and treatment in accordance to policies and procedures as a minimum standard within the PACU upon successful completion of competency documents:

  • Safe admission and discharge of patients

  • Routine specialty specific post-anaesthetic/surgical care (e.g. Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular, Thoracic, Neurosurgical, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, ENT, Urology)​​​​​​​

What we need from you:

  • Nursing Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required, with no restrictions to practice.

  • Previous experience in an acute hospital setting such medical/surgical ward is essential

  • Previous experience in PACU/Recovery/ICU would be advantageous but not essential
