Northrop Grumman is currently looking for an experienced Level 5 -M&S Engineer / Product Owner with experience in product ownership and/or technical program management. This will be located at our Northridge, CA. Location.
The successful candidate will take on responsibilities in agile product ownership for individual programs and will assist and mentor other engineers in similar roles. The candidate will lead the M&S group on a specific program to drive our contractual obligations and deliverables to completion. In addition to specific product ownership responsibilities the candidate will improve our agile product management processes across the group, with a focus of leveraging agile processes for added value to our programs. There will be a focus on improving the effectiveness of the scrum manager role throughout the team. The engineer will have specific responsibilities in managing budget and schedule, combining EVMS an agile paradigms, and in assisting functional managers in staffing decisions.
The modeling and simulation team has engineers with a diverse set of capabilities, including software engineering, systems engineering, GNC, sensors, and analysis. The type of diverse-team leadership experience gained in this role will be suitable for both further technical leadership and program leadership roles.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer, Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Product Owner - (Level 05):
BS degree in software engineering, information technology, aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, or a related field is required with 12 years of experience or an MS degree in areas above with 8 years of experience is required.
Experience as a product owner, technical lead, technical program manager, or similar type of leadership role.
Significant experience managing budget and schedule (EVMS, active scrum manager, or similar role where budget and schedule were a significant responsibility)
Significant Experience in some part of the product delivery cycle downstream from development.
Experience in at least 2 of the following:
Proposal development and/or contract negotiation
Significant experience with configuration management
Functional management
Managing information technology systems
At least 2 years
CAMEO or other SYSML tools
Weapon system Modeling and Simulation
Must have an interim level secret level clearance at start, and be able to obtain a SAP level program clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing or working with a CI/CD pipeline (strongly preferred)
Leadership Experience
Additional experience in DevOps (strongly preferred)
Siemens Team Center PLM (EPLM) tool
Multiple software configuration management tools
Some experience with 6-DOF simulations or related simulations, or guidance, navigation and control algorithms for airborne platforms (strongly preferred)
Experience running Monte Carlo simulations
Experience working with an HPC system
Experience with hardware in the loop systems
Experience using simulations to verify weapon systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
