Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to include the Sentinel (GBSD) program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

• Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical hardware design.

• Evaluating mechanical hardware, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs.

• Ensures product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating that current standards are applied.

• Supports the delivery of mechanical hardware PDPs and additional design artifacts.

• Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.

• Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

• Developing and maturing mechanical hardware designs that meet Weapon System requirements, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

Current DoD Secret clearance with capability for SAP access

• 12 years of experience with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering; 10 years of experience with Masters in Mechanical Engineering; or 8 years of experience with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering

• Expertise with mechanical CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)

• Experience in drawing release or model based engineering environments, Teamcenter CPLM or similar

• Experience in conducting Peer Reviews

• Experience in mentoring Jr Engineers

• Experience in releasing engineering

• Demonstrated high degree of creativity and ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems

• Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, willing to learn, experience working in a team environment

• Experience supporting Mechanical aspects of Circuit Card Design

Preferred Qualifications:

• A current DoD Top Secret clearance

• Clearance investigation date within the last 6 years to have SAP access

• Experience effectively communicating and presenting to project and program management, other technical managers and customers

• Experience with Siemens NX

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, drawing creation, tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $208,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
