Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Engineer Software to support the Global Surveillance Division supporting the team of qualified, diverse individuals. The program technologies include the full software lifecycle and advanced missions support in tactical applications for the warfighter. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:
(Staff Engineer Software) bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 12 or more years of experience in software engineering OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 10 or more years of experience in software engineering OR a PHD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 or more years of experience in software engineering
At least 7+ years’ experience developing software/writing code in C/C++ OR Java
7+ years’ experience developing software in an object-oriented manner, analysis and design
5+ Years experience integrating software and hardware
7+ years’ experience developing software with Linux/Unix operating systems
Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance “Interim DoD Top Secret clearance required to start” within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
At least 3+ years of Lab and Software simulation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS) architecture and standards
Experience with Agile software development and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye, etc.)
Experience with Cameo modeling for software design
An active, In-scope Top Secret security clearance
Experience with National Instruments products

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
