About Netskope

Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.

Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive.  Visit us at Netskope Careers. About the role

The Platform Engineering SRE (PESRE) organization builds observability, infrastructure, software and tooling to ensure the resiliency, efficacy and performance of Netskope's security cloud infrastructure and networking. We are seeking a highly skilled staff-level SRE with a core specialty in the networking domain. If you are the successful candidate, you will become the subject matter expert within PESRE, and own the SRE function, for several proprietary networking and traffic distribution applications, as well as their associated infrastructure. You will lead incident response for issues in your domain during IST hours, and drive resolution by utilizing observability, your SRE skillset and specialist domain knowledge to diagnose and address incident root causes. Together with PESRE leadership, you will be responsible for identifying observability gaps, opportunities for automation to reduce toil, and other SRE-focused initiatives for applications and infrastructure within your ownership.

What’s in it for you

Netskope offers a fast-paced startup culture within a rapidly growing business, with a global private cloud footprint, the scale of which is rivaled by only a handful of businesses worldwide. The role will provide opportunities to leverage AI, and to learn new technologies, concepts and architectures.

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify, prioritize and drive improvements in deployment, performance, observability and resiliency of the applications within your domain.
  • Lead efforts to resolve production incidents within your domain by using your skills and knowledge to quickly diagnose and remediate production issues.
  • Mentor less senior team members to disseminate knowledge and promote career growth within the team.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management using tools like SaltStack and Ansible.
  • Automate operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and ensure infrastructure as code is reproducible and version-controlled.
  • Collaborate with security, network, and development teams to support SRE requirements.
  • Monitor health and performance using Prometheus, custom exporters, and alerting pipelines.
  • Write and maintain internal documentation, diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Participate in PESRE on-call rotation to organize responses to production incidents during IST hours.
  • Conduct non-functional testing to validate infrastructure and software performance and resiliency requirements.

Required skills and experience

  • Comfortable taking an active role in resolving production issues on incident calls.
  • Solid Linux systems engineering experience.
  • Deep knowledge within the networking and infrastructure domains.
  • Proficiency with SaltStack, Ansible, Chef or similar configuration management tools.
  • Experience with Prometheus, including exporters and custom metrics.
  • Strong Python scripting abilities for automation and tooling.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), k8s, CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with a focus on documentation and collaboration.
