Staff Engineer, Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA)

As the Staff Engineer of Electrical Failure Analysis, you will be at the forefront of solving sophisticated challenges and driving innovation in semiconductor memory products. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization in developing new methodologies, capabilities, and innovations for failure analysis, and proliferate these across the Micron network.
- Lead collaboration with a diverse group of engineering teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve sophisticated fab issues applying novel failure analysis techniques, statistical data analysis, and other innovative methodologies, effectively identify the root-cause of issues and implement robust solutions.
- Work closely with internal partners to understand requests, define and isolate the problems, deliver clear analysis, and develop robust solution to effectively improve and resolve yield, quality, test programs, and other critical fab issues.
- Support Yield Improvement teams in resolving critical and advance problems, including improving coverage at Probe, repair optimization, pattern stress, bug optimization, and Force Fail criteria review and verification.
- Drive or represent the team in important task force meetings and provide clear, detailed reports to internal partners, explaining the electrical failure models and mechanisms observed.
- Super-user of state-of-art failure analysis and fault isolation equipment, enabling new skills development and delivering outstanding failure analysis with clear insights and root-cause understanding.
- Strengthen organization's technical skills and capabilities through active mentoring and driving continuous improvements projects across the organization.
- Mentor Engineers in the organization through in-depth failure analysis case investigation, MBPS methodology, coordinated training and studies, and writing technical papers.
- Provides advice to leaders and helps shape strategic directions and decisions of the team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree plus 8 years equivalent work experience in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Effective communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Strong self-motivation and passion.
- Good multitasking and organizational skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good presentation skills.
- Proven track record to work in an inclusive and diverse work environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with DRAM process and other memory or logic technologies.
- Strong electrical failure analysis, fault isolation, test program, and circuit-level debugging skills.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting, design and product validation/simulation, and data analysis, including VLSI, semiconductor processes.
- Experience in using Cadence or other industry-standard failure analysis and fault isolation equipment and techniques.
- Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication process flow and testing.
- Willingness to engage in shift work as required.
