Position Overview and Objective

As a Staff Developer, you’ll take a leadership role in designing and building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power our cybersecurity solutions. You'll mentor junior developers, drive architectural decisions, and work closely with front-end engineers, security teams, and DevOps to create robust and efficient systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services.

  • Design and implement and make use of RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and micro-services to support backend applications and Integration systems.

  • Optimise system performance, security, and reliability for large-scale cloud applications.

  • Collaborate with other  developers, security teams, and DevOps engineers to drive backend innovation.

  • Work with databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

  • Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.

  • Guide and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

  • Continuously improve development processes and promote backend best practices.

  • Drive integration of LLMs and autonomous agents into the existing systems to enhance accuracy and  decrease component delivery time.

  • Lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority, influencing through expertise and collaboration.

  • Interact with Product Managers to ensure seamless delivery of components to production.

Experience & Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in backend development, with exposure to full-stack development.

  • Expertise in any of the programming languages such as Python(preferred) or Go

  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, and micro-services architecture.

  • Experience with databases (such as PostgreSQL, MYSQL).

  • Proficiency in asynchronous programming, multithreading, and performance optimisation from a Platform stand point.

  • Familiarity with message queues (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS).

  • Strong understanding of security best practices, authentication, and authorisation mechanisms.

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and ECS.

  • Good Understanding of AI native tools (such as lang chain, lang fuse) and ​ experience in development lifecycle with AI-DLC

Nice to have skills

  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) and cloud-native architectures.

  • Experience working with AWS, Azure or GCP .

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity products like XDR, MDR, SOC

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, MITRE

  • Strong experience with Git for version control.

  • Interest in cybersecurity and security operations.
