In this role the Staff Accountant will provide a variety of financial functions. The successful candidate will have strong time management and analytical skills, attention to detail and solid communication abilities. The individual will work with staff on various daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual functions and will be cross trained to provide backup support as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Key role assisting in accurate and timely production of monthly financial statements for all operating entities.
Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers by entering various transactions, preparing journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Monitor, reconcile, and complete monthly journal entries for assigned accounts.
· Prepares reconciling and audit work papers on general ledger accounts and assists with gathering support for audits.
· Enter banking data and prepare journal entries as needed.
· Month-end closing responsibilities.
· Assist in gathering data as needed for preparation of annual budget.
Assist with new Accounting and Finance projects as they arise.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Accounting Supervisor and/or Director of Finance*

Required Skills/ Qualifications:
Skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in reading and interpreting financial data and preparing analysis.
Skill in effective written and verbal communications in a professional and courteous manner.
High proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communications skills are essential.
Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs, copier, and telephone systems.
Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
Education and Experience:
10 years, or more, of accounting experience.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting a plus or equivalent work experience.
Experience with Dynamics GP helpful
