Job Summary

As a Sr. Vacation Packages Pricing Consultant on the Revenue Strategy & Analysis Team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the pricing strategy for Getaways by Southwest. From implementing pricing capabilities in the Vacations Booking Engine to developing tools and analytics that drive smart decisions, you’ll ensure our vacation packages remain competitive and compelling. You’ll collaborate across multiple Teams, from Marketing and FP&A to Airline Revenue Management, while leveraging data and insights to optimize pricing and inventory. Your work directly influences how Customers experience Southwest Vacations, helping us deliver exceptional value and strengthen Southwest’s position as the airline that connects People to what matters most.

Responsibilities
  • Support development of the vacation packages pricing strategy, implement package pricing capabilities, and configure and maintain the Vacations Booking Engine (VBE) including rate and inventory for non-air package components.
  • Build and own the requirements document and schematics for the design of the pricing core that processes competitive price shops and business rules to calculate suggested price markups
  • Execute benchmarking as needed to understand Southwest Vacations package pricing versus competitors and lead the ongoing sourcing and management of competitive price shops with third-party vendors
  • Partner with Airline Revenue Management and Pricing Team to understand market dynamics and air booking trends and take part in BAU planning sessions.
  • Develop and leverage analytical tools to support pricing rules and decision-making, including promotions and discounts.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team to manage promotions at both market and individual partner levels.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Go-To-Market teams regarding hotel sort order and merchandising decisions.
  • Manage pricing strategy for assignment markets.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of pricing or revenue management for air or vacation package products
  • Knowledge of a Revenue Management System is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of data tools such as Python or SQL is preferred but not required
  • Skilled in leading mid-to-large scale cross-functional projects
  • Skilled in problem-solving and storytelling
  • Skilled in analytical and quantitative analysis with experience building quantitative models
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, including development and delivery of presentations to various audiences
  • Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to contend with a range and complexity of large business problems
  • Ability to align multiple parties, with conflicting/diverse viewpoints, on the direction for specific initiatives
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
    • Pricing of air or bundled products or services
    • Developing analytical models for informing pricing decisions
    • Leading cross-functional projects
  • Preferred: Knowledge/Experience with Revenue Management
  • Preferred: Knowledge/Experience with SQL
  • Preferred: Knowledge/Experience with Excel

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $125,900 - $139,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
