The Senior Therapy Development Specialist will drive downstream strategy and execution for U.S. marketing and VTE education initiatives within a target region. This role will be a key member of the sales and carepath solutions team, partnering with sales management and the sales force to connect carepath initiatives to physician and administrative customers across the care path.
The Senior Therapy Development Specialist must be able to independently create and manage cross-functional coalitions, both internally and externally.
They will have significant interaction with the field-based sales teams to drive meaningful engagements in carepath / VTE program development.
They must be able to efficiently manage a large (often multi-state) geography to drive VTE care path optimization programs and identify and develop resources.
Consistent follow-through to ensure that programs are impactful to physician customers, local/regional societies, and the local sales teams will be key.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Act as a regional and trusted VTE care path expert, driving VTE program solutions across the regional teams you support while managing a broad coalition of customers.
• These may include treating and managing physicians, administration, staff, and other personnel.
• Must be able to prioritize key account work across multiple regions effectively.
• Effectively analyze gaps in the current care path and develop and execute education and clinical care path solutions that incorporate large multidisciplinary teams.
• Drive understanding of patient & clinician insights within the therapy, including patient and care path physician behavior.
• Identify novel strategies and approaches that have a positive impact on the carepath that are adopted broadly or beyond the assigned region.
• Manage account education initiatives throughout the project lifecycle and effectively communicate with the regional sales team throughout.
• Identify and develop care path KOL’s.
• Identify, organize, and execute local/regional care path tradeshows & conferences and other meetings to optimize product and therapy awareness regionally.
• Represent marketing as key point of contact with defined Sales region.
• Work closely with field sales leaders, sales, clinical research, strategic accounts, and market access teams where appropriate.
• Be the regional expert in clinical data related to thrombectomy and stay current with product and therapy data and incorporate them into messaging for raising therapy awareness.
• Assist with local PR initiatives related to Penumbra product patient success, program development success, and Penumbra communications team to drive therapy awareness in the local market.
• Establish and foster relationships with customers and key carepath opinion leaders within the assigned region to enable podium representation of Penumbra products that drive improved adoption of relevant products.
• Ability to utilize analytic methods to capture and evaluate regional activities, including analysis and recommendation of new opportunities, and adapt processes and strategies, as necessary.
• Promote and maintain the Penumbra brand, raising therapy awareness within assigned region
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Understand relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.
• Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience managing or facilitating program development, quality initiatives, LEAN Sigma engagements in the hospital or medical device field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.
• Preferred MBA, or BSN/ RN or APP with experience as a PERT, VTE or Stroke Coordinator and/or experience in ED, ICU, Pulmonology, or related space.
• Program Development, Clinical Quality improvement, or Solutions sales Experience developing and executing strategic customer initiatives.
• Program Management, especially LEAN Sigma experience, and strong clinical background.
• Strong team player who can incorporate input from others and can generate consensus through inclusion.

Working Conditions
• General remote work environment
• Business travel 80% or more (U.S.) with overnight stay at least 50-75% of the time (based on geographic assignment).
• Must be able to travel extensively by car and plane.
• Must be able to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work schedule.
• Must be able to work in Cath Labs or OR with radiation exposure and wear lead apron for long periods of time (2-3hrs on average).
• Requires some lifting and moving of up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
• Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day.
• Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets.
• Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed.
• Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.
Annual Base Salary Range: $110,000 to $185,000
