Responsible for providing technical expertise in support of the Technical Sales Support Engineering team in their efforts to support the BAA sales organization, creating a competitive advantage, maximizing customer satisfaction, contributing to the return on investment objective for the company, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and customer expectations; analyze technical information for the purpose of providing optimal solutions to the client’s sealing needs; make engineering recommendations for seal types, materials and sealing systems; provide engineering assistance in the field with seal installation, removal and troubleshooting of seals and systems, and commissioning, start-up/shut-down of compressors, pumps, expansion joints; evaluate failed seals and provide a detailed failure analysis with application recommendations in a Seal Failure Report; lead Root Cause Analysis on warranty incidents, as well as lead warranty response efforts; collaborate in the promotion, selling, and servicing of our products, consistent with the objectives of the company and the needs of the customer; prepare technical proposals, review purchase orders, and work closely with the planning, customer service; utilize and apply knowledge of Mechanical seal failure analysis, root cause analysis, Solid Edge, CATIA-V5, SolidWorks, CADRA, CAD software, SAP, seal supply systems, structural/thermal simulations, and project management procedures to perform assigned duties; ensure timely execution of quotations and orders to meet and exceed department key performance indicators; develop and review engineering drawings and product operation and maintenance manuals when needed to ensure accuracy; troubleshoot products and systems, and document findings and recommendations in a report; collaborate in the development and maintenance of engineering sales tools including surveys, reference lists, status updates, presentations, standard proposals, and technical guidelines; develop new designs and improvement of existing mechanical seals; create and conduct technical presentations for customers and potential customers as part of sales support functions; and communicate with management to ensure BAA remains up to date on the latest practices, standards and technologies.
