The Sr Technical Product Owner – Pharmacy Data & Claims plays a key role in stabilizing execution across legacy data domains, with specific accountability for Pharmacy and Pharmacy Claims data, by owning team-level backlog prioritization and sequencing of technical data work required to enable product roadmap delivery. This position emphasizes ownership of execution intake and backlog governance—ensuring that reporting, extract, production support, and pharmacy claims–related data requests are consistently routed, refined, and prioritized through Data Tech standards. The role partners closely with Engineering Managers, Product, Operations, and Pharmacy stakeholders to translate roadmap initiatives into sequenced technical data work while balancing run-the-business support with platform modernization needs.
This role sits within the centralized Data Solutions function and partners closely with Engineering Managers and Product stakeholders to establish consistent execution intake and backlog sequencing within legacy reporting and extract pathways. The Sr. Technical Data Product Owner will also act as the technical custodian for Pharmacy and Pharmacy Claims data domains as part of the enterprise data domain governance model.

Position Description:
Own and manage team-level backlog prioritization for Pharmacy and Pharmacy Claims data domains
Act as the execution intake point for routed requests from centralized Data Tech intake processes
Engage Product and Operations stakeholders to clarify and translate requests into sequenced technical data work
Ensure all incoming data systems, reporting and extract requests are logged, refined, and prioritized through the Data Tech backlog
Map and document current intake, requirements, and production support workflows across legacy teams
Partner with Data Solutions Analysts to redesign intake and support routing processes
Balance run-the-business support needs with platform modernization work within team backlog
Collaborate with Engineering Managers to sequence work in alignment with ingestion standards and data platform architecture
Participate in PI planning to align backlog sequencing with roadmap enablement
Serve as the primary Data Tech contact for backlog-related sequencing tradeoffs within assigned domain
Serve as the technical custodian for Pharmacy and Pharmacy Claims data domains, partnering with domain stakeholders to ensure intake, sequencing, and reporting requests align with enterprise data standards and domain governance objectives
Skills You’ll Need:
Degree or equivalent, and typically requires 7+ years of experience in data analysis, technical data product ownership, delivery governance, or platform enablement roles
Healthcare data experience required, ideally exposure to pharmacy claims datasets (PBM, specialty pharmacy, hub services, commercialization analytics, etc).
Strong understanding of data engineering workflows, ingestion pipelines, and reporting enablement processes
Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing technical demands within a delivery backlog
Experience engaging with Product and Engineering stakeholders to translate roadmap initiatives into technical requirements
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate sequencing tradeoffs across technical and business teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing execution priorities across multiple teams
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in shared services or platform delivery environments
Familiarity with production support or reporting intake processes
Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure) and data modernization programs
Ability to document and redesign operational workflows
SQL familiarity (able to read/write queries for validation)
Strong facilitation skills for backlog refinement and prioritization sessions
Experience working with healthcare data and regulatory considerations
Ownership mindset, with the ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term platform modernization
Experience collaborating with Engineering Managers to align delivery sequencing
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with Agile delivery models (e.g., Scrum, SAFe), with the ability to adapt delivery practices to platform and data engineering workflows
