What is the opportunity?

The International Banking team is actively engaged in enhancing the core banking platform to support expanded capabilities for global clients. These initiatives are key to broader organizational programs aimed at advancing RBC’s product and service offerings worldwide. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional business and IT partners to define, document, and drive requirements for the platform’s evolution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and client needs. This role that requires a strong foundation in core banking systems and software development with hands-on experience deploying and or supporting production ready solutions.

What will you do?

  • Elicit and document business requirements for various initiatives with focus on translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Identify and engage various stakeholders that would be impacted by new changes proposed by the business.
  • Perform impact analysis as part of the new changes and document the outcome.
  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.

What do you need to succeed?

 Must-have:

  • Undergraduate degree coupled with experience in handling and defining banking products such as accounts, deposits, loans etc.
  • A strong understanding of Core Banking principles and the technical implementation of the same.
  • Relational Database skills to query and transform data to derive requirements.
  • Ability to read/understand code (COBOL preferred)
  • Ability to manage parallel competing priorities without losing sight of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities with a highly collaborative mindset
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented and the ability to demonstrate sense of urgency; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have: 

  • Experience in a matrix environment, such a large Financial Institution
  • Fintech experience - dealing with multiple lines of business like Personal/Commercial Banking, Wealth Management and Capital Markets
  • Programming experience on IBMi platform/COBOL400
