About This Job

We are looking for a Sr. Tax Accountant to support our Tax Team. For this candidate to be successful, they must have a strong understanding of tax, be highly self-motivated and directed, committed to solving problems efficiently, and interested in being part of an organization committed to continuous growth and improvement. This is a position that must be able to set the standard for integrity and professionalism, while interacting with a diverse team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support management in leading and developing a team of employees through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual evaluations to support professional growth and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Maintain income tax accounts with various government agencies.
  • Assist with indirect tax and international tax compliance and projects.
  • Improve the efficiency of tax processes and controls through technology.
  • Research tax concepts and apply to tax fillings.
  • Gather tax return information for filings.
  • Interact with varying government agencies to ensure tax accounts are in compliance. 
  • Review tax account reconciliations and support financial close.
  • Review work and guide tax accountants.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process optimizations. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the function.
  • Contribute to a collaborative work environment that promotes open communication, innovation, and employee engagement. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align departmental goals with broader organizational strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned because every day is different in hospitality!

Skills + Qualifications

  • Experience working in hotel, hospitality, vacation or similar industry is highly preferred.
  • College degree in Accounting / Finance is strongly preferred, though we recognize that great talent comes from many different paths.
  • 4+ years of relevant tax experience.
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of partnership and corporate income tax.
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguity.
  • Highly organized and thorough.
  • Deadline driven.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to change.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using various digital systems and applications and comfortable using mobile apps, tablets, and various software platforms.
  • Comfortable talking to people—online or in person—and being able to share information in a way that’s clear, thoughtful, and easy to understand.

Workplace Environment + Expectations

  • This position in 100% remote. Ability to work from home and resides in one of the followings states: AK, AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, or WY
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Typically a Monday - Friday workweek with expectations to be flexible to support the needs of the business

Physical Demands
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand/finger motions) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.

Compensation

  • $59700 - $95500 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location.
