Join our dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in maintaining essential equipment and systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our plant. Your expertise will help eliminate downtime, address safety concerns, and uphold USDA and Food Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Supervision: Oversee the maintenance of boilers, air compressors, flotation main lift stations, hot water systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and manage the Roundsman crew, ensuring high levels of labor efficiency and effectiveness.
- Safety & Compliance: Actively participate in and ensure compliance with stringent plant safety policies, procedures, and food safety programs.
- PSM Program: Maintain the PSM program for the plant, ensuring compliance with Tyson corporate standards.
- Carcass Coolers Management: Manage carcass coolers and refrigeration systems, understanding the importance of carcass condition and temperature.
- Scheduling & Prioritization: Prioritize and schedule Roundsman crew work with the assistance of maintenance planners.
- Certification Management: Verify that all equipment licenses are renewed annually and operating certificates are current.
- Plant Maintenance Activities: Participate in plant maintenance activities, HACCP, and USDA-related issues, ensuring repairs comply with food safety guidelines.
- Support TCCS: Assist TCCS with their PSM and refrigeration programs as needed.
Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Post-high school education is a plus (special training, certification programs, vocational school, military training, or college classes).
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, boiler refrigeration field, or a technical-related background preferred.
Computer Skills
- Competent in Windows-based software.
- Ability to correspond via emails, enter data into document templates, and create simple queries.
Communication Skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively in all areas of communication: verbal, written, and reading.
Travel
- 1 to 5 trips per year for training and seminars.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing a group of hourly team members who will perform the necessary work to maintain the engine room, boilers, and refrigeration system.
Special Skills
- Able to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Highly organized with time management and archiving of information.
- General mechanical abilities, ammonia refrigeration equipment, electrical (230-480 V 3ph, 4160V, 110V control voltage), hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler operations, water treatment, general plumbing knowledge are essential.
- Fabrication skills and welding using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch are a plus.
- General knowledge of the MMS is helpful.
Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination.
