Position Summary:

The Sr. Supervisor Logistics role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within warehousing and/or production facilities. This role ensures strict adherence to safety protocols, compliance with established processes, adequate staffing to meet operational demands, and effective management of material flow requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the flow of materials with other departments and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Manage the receipt of large materials following appropriate ERP processes.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing parts and finished goods.
  • Comply with audit requirements and processes.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
  • Develop new material control processes to reduce cycle time and improve first pass yield
  • Lead continuous improvement activities including identifying and implementing changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of warehouses, material flow, department, and staff.
  • Manage departmental overtime and attendance records
  • Assign, direct, and evaluate employee work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Administer personnel policies and procedures to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Communicate to senior management of progress, developments and pending problems
  • Monitor expenses versus budget on an on-going basis
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Global Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Change Management or Materials Management and 5 years of experience in warehouse management; or 9 years of experience in warehouse management.
  • At least 2 years of supervisor experience.
  • Must be willing to work 4x10 hour shifts and support staff during required overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of production planning
  • Excellent knowledge of inventory control, including supply chain, material movement, and related system software.
  • Excellent knowledge of material handling change processes
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity of computer applications and/or controlled systems
  • Familiar with plant operations and equipment
  • Knowledge of MTU products
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process flow
  • Previous experience in area of supervisory responsibility
