Content Platforms & Operations

Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

Job Summary:

A qualified Sr. Streaming Media Operator is a key member of a daily operations team responsible for delivering high profile media products to market. By possessing sophisticated in-depth workflow knowledge and operational experience, this Sr. Streaming Media Operator guides a team of Operators in the day-to-day activities that enable surfacing and removing live and on-demand content from all Internet playback platforms. In addition to these media operations, responsibilities will also include serving as an expert in managing application of technology and improvements, as well as providing client and product support as needed, which can include holidays, nights and weekends.

A Sr. Streaming Media Operator will:

  • Possess in-depth workflow knowledge and operational experience
  • Be responsible for following operational procedures and raising awareness of issues in workflows when they arise
  • Develop and document advanced troubleshooting protocols for workflow issues, providing guidance and training to junior staff while maintaining records for knowledge sharing and process improvement.
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
  • Execute defined processes to validate the quality and availability of live content streams
  • Exhibit emerging skills in data synthesis and data processes
  • Show potential in the construction of procedures for troubleshooting large data sets and complex cloud structures
  • Field workflow requirements from Streaming Media Leads and Supervisors and gather data in support of documentation of workflows
  • Able to operate independently with limited guidance
  • Provide support to the Incident Manager during Priority 1-2 incidents

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Responsible for following operational procedures and raising awareness of issues in workflows when they arise
  • Execute defined processes to validate the quality and availability of live content streams
  • Record steps to troubleshoot workflows when issues arise
  • Field workflow requirements from senior staff and gather data in support of documentation of workflows

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant technical, operational or digital media environment with proven leadership skills
  • Work knowledge of live/on-demand
  • Ability to serve as shift leader and liaison to Operations team personnel as well as product stakeholders
  • Ability to train team and new employees on daily tasks and execution of new technical information and procedures
  • Ability to provide support and communications during crisis management
  • Exhibits expert product knowledge of technical components utilized by this organization

Required Education  

  • High school diploma
The hiring range for this remote position is $76,800 to $118,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
