Job Summary:
InterDigital is currently seeking a motivated candidate to join our Finance team as a Senior Staff Accountant, reporting to the Manager of Accounting and Reporting. The ideal candidate will be an independent, critical thinker and will play a key role in our company’s monthly general ledger closing process. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for assisting internal and external auditors for quarterly and year-end SOX audit requests as well as SEC (10K, 10Q) filings.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be a key participant inthe monthly general ledger closing process, including:
Prepare general ledger journal entries and maintain records and files
Prepare balance sheet and P&L account analysis, including but not limited to: cash bank reconciliations, fixed and intangible asset rollforwards, prepaid assets, accrued liabilities, etc.
Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
Research and correct account discrepancies
Preparation of monthly trend expense analysis and research
In addition, you will also be responsible for various aspects related to the following activities:
Support internal and external auditors for quarterly and year-end audit and SOX requests
Support the preparation and review of external filings with the SEC (10K, 10Q)
Assist with our purchasing procedures and all reporting requirements related to purchasing, including purchase card reconciliations
Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting systems, reporting templates, and processes
Supporting and guiding junior team members as required
Additional Ad Hoc projects and reporting needs as they arise
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
3-5 years of experience in corporate general ledger accounting
CPA, or working towards CPA/eligible for CPA required
A basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience in General Ledger accounting with a knowledge of reconciliations, month-end close, and year-end close
Strong financial and analytical abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros, lookups etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills required
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to interface with people and departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of the close process
Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability and ownership of assignments, preferred
Experience with Microsoft D365, OneStream, Power BI, or other applications is a plus
