Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take on leadership roles in high-impact projects, using your advanced skills to develop solutions effectively. You will focus on complex software development tasks and strategic applications, mentoring engineers and influencing product direction. You'll bring experience with complex system architecture, multi-region deployment strategies, and an understanding of compliance requirements in code.

You will evaluate technologies and design features with privacy considerations, optimizing performance at scale while collaborating with other engineers and guiding junior engineers. Your ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and identify where technologies like NoSQL, and AI could be utilized to achieve company objectives will be critical. Similarly, you would be knowledgeable to choose the AI tools and introduce to juniors to maximize productivity. You will also interact with internal and external teams, train them on products, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. As a creative problem solver, you will continuously drive improvements across the software development life cycle, ensuring best practices are utilized.

About the Role:

  • We are currently seeking talented candidates to fill the position of Sr. software Engineer in the Reuters Technology organization working in our Bangalore office. 
  • As a Sr. software Engineer, you will have team to deliver end-to-end technical solutions for a single or multiple products or complex projects.
  • Solve complex problems with minimal guidance and support
  • Desire to learn new technologies.
  • Proven strong analytical design and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Highly accountable for meeting all commitments and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Drive for continuous process improvement.
  • Support and monitor the developers to learn and achieve their goals

About you:

  • Bachelors in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in Java based application/product designing, developing, deploying, and support.
  • Experience in AWS cloud based application application development, deployment
  • Minimum 2+ years of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in XML and JSON
  • Experience in GraphQL API development hosted in a containerized environment such as ECS, EKS.
  • Strong debugging skills, with tools such as Kibana, Data Dog and other AWS tools 
  • Skills in Elastic Search/Open Search and front-end UI development in Angular would be an advantage.
