Job Overview
As a Senior SDET on PitchBook’s Marketing Platform Automation team, you will design and build modern automated testing solutions that ensure the reliability, scalability, and accuracy of the systems powering our global Marketing and Revenue ecosystem. This is a backend-focused, data-heavy testing role where you’ll work on distributed systems, APIs, and integrations (Marketo, Salesforce, Snowflake, Workato).
Your work will directly influence release quality, developer velocity, and the stability of mission-critical workflows across lead orchestration, revenue analytics, and marketing automation.
This role also plays a key part in our shift toward AI-enabled and agentic testing practices. You will help define how engineers leverage AI coding agents to generate test cases, refactor brittle tests, detect edge cases, and improve coverage—while still ensuring human oversight, strategic thinking, and quality ownership remain central to the testing discipline.
Team Overview
Your responsibilities span across the Marketing as well as Sales & CS Platform, each of which are cross-functional teams consisting of product management, product ownership, and engineers who are responsible for our core Revenue Technology stack.
Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
Scalable, reliable automation frameworks in Python, Java, or JavaScript that support end-to-end validation of distributed systems
• API, backend, and data-pipeline test suites designed for maintainability, clarity, and long-term platform evolution
• High-signal tests that surface failure modes early, accelerate developer feedback loops, and reduce production defects
• Test suites that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines running on AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and containerized infra
• Monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to detect regressions, performance issues, and environmental drift
• Automated workflows that leverage AI agents for test generation, refactoring, and edge-case discovery
• Practices and tooling that enable tests to serve as definitive specifications for agent-driven development
• Self-healing and self-updating test systems that remain stable as the underlying architecture evolves
• Patterns and abstractions that continuously raise the team’s quality bar and reduce flakiness across environments
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years in software development or test engineering roles
• Strong automation experience across backend systems, APIs, integrations, and data platforms
• Expertise in Python, Java, or JavaScript for test frameworks and backend utilities
• Experience testing platforms like Marketo, Salesforce, Snowflake, or similar systems
• Practical experience with cloud testing (AWS/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging skills using ELK, distributed logs, telemetry, and monitoring tools
• Experience applying or experimenting with AI-assisted or agentic testing approaches
Nice to Have
• Exposure to Workato or similar automation platforms
• Experience supporting marketing, sales, or revenue platforms
• Experience tuning or building performance tests for distributed systems
• Background working with AI agent frameworks such as Agentforce
