Sr Senior Accountant, Sales Finance - Mexico

In this role as the Senior Accountant, you will manage accounting for global licensing revenue recognition and collections, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards for the wholesale business.

About the Job 

  • Handling routine sales incentives and allowance accruals, performing cut-off analyses, pricing, and claims reviews.

  • Conducting preparation and analytical reviews of complex wholesale revenue recognition areas such as gross margin analysis, revenue cut-off, sales allowances, incentives, and pricing.

  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to certify their completeness and accuracy.

  • Researching and resolving complex transaction issues and reconciling accrual or balance discrepancies.

  • Collaborating with finance and commercial operations to maintain a strong control environment.

  • Providing month-end and quarter-end balance sheet flux commentaries.

  • Analyzing complex business transaction proposals to apply correct accounting regulations and communicating findings with business professionals.

  • Partner with global commercial finance, sales to offer ongoing reporting, insights, and support.

  • Ensuring compliance with SOX and revenue recognition policies and procedures.

  • Supporting internal and external audit deliverables.

  • Participating in commercial, controllership, or technology-led special projects and leading sales-finance problem-solving.

Process Improvement & Automation:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accruals/ JE processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance data quality.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and reliability.

Reporting & Metrics:

  • Month end, Quarter end and Year end reporting & analysis

  • Look Back & Lead time analysis

  • Set team objectives and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met.

About You 

  • Minimum 5, 7 to 10 years of accounting experience, Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, principles, and GAAP requirements.

  • Experience in working within a multinational organization, especially managing cross-border data compliance

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting as a minimum requirement; an MBA, MAcc, CA, CPA.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Flexible work arrangements - 3 days in a week work from Office
