FLSA STATUS: Exempt

COMPENSTATION: $75,000 - $95,000 USD

OUR STORY

THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

The Security Systems Specialist is a principal member of the Security leadership team.  The Specialist is critical to executing the overall strategy to effectively and efficiently identify, mitigate, prevent, or eliminate unnecessary risk facing the Cubs organization by following an Intelligence-led approach to organizational security. Specifically, this position will be responsible for the overall strategy, maintenance and functionality of all Cubs security technology systems.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Develops the overall strategy, maintenance and functionality of all Cubs security technology systems.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of  CCTV, Door alarms, Alarm systems, WebEOC, Visitor Management system and access control.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all third-party vendors involved in the purchasing, deployment and maintenance of security technology systems.

  • Manage all integrations within security technology systems.

  • Train staff on security systems.

  • Proactive vision into strategic improvements that can be made to existing technology systems.

  • Have superior knowledge of facility services and physical layout of all equipment.

  • Coordinate with the Technical department on all projects.

  • Purchasing of equipment for the security systems.

  • Programming equipment related to the security department.

  • Conduct routine maintenance of the security systems and the equipment.

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or a combination of technical certifications and at least 5 years of technology integration experience.

  • Knowledge of security technology systems including but not limited to, Genetec, Software House, Rapiscan, Evolv, CEIA, Juvare, and/or Airguard.

  • Must have weekend and holiday availability.  Must be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of people.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10%  of the time within the U.S. and the Dominican Republic

  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of basic infrastructure, server maintenance,

  • Ability to use platform/scissor lifts, boom lifts, ladders, and safety harnesses.

  • Able to perform the following physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk/run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time..

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and lift to 50lbs on an occasional basis.Experience completing basic security camera installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.

  • Ability to complete annual audit of all security systems software and hardware.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Applicable security systems certifications in maintenance, integration, and repair

  • Background or experience in coding, server maintenance, deployment and repair

  • Experience with strategic security systems expansion and annual routine maintenance replacement plans.
