Job Description
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing, promoting, implementing, and supervising policies, best practices, and safety procedures across the company. This role also supports the preparation of site investment projects by ensuring full alignment with EHS requirements and acts as the primary point of contact with local authorities regarding EHS compliance.
Essential Functions / Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s Health & Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with internal standards and legal requirements.
- Serve as the primary representative before local authorities regarding EHS matters and certification of compliance.
- Implement and oversee the company’s Health & Safety Program, ensuring alignment with local and global HSE standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local and global HSE indicators.
- Review and maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulations applicable to the company’s operations.
- Prioritize and implement safety policies across all company sites and venues.
- Develop a deep understanding of company operations, job roles, and processes to identify EHS needs.
- Prioritize and justify EHS-related investments and purchases.
- Conduct detailed analyses of job tasks to identify risks and necessary preventive measures.
- Define and implement appropriate procedures to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide EHS guidance during the planning and execution of all projects.
- Communicate EHS requirements clearly to employees, managers, and stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor project progress and adherence to safety standards.
- Regularly review evolving legal requirements and ensure company procedures remain compliant.
- Prepare clear, accurate EHS reports and present findings to management.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.
- Continuously monitor working conditions to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience is a plus.
- Experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety Engineering or a related field.
- English proficiency at B1 level or higher.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency; able to work well under pressure.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to build strong working relationships.
