What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Program Manager, IT within the Capital Markets Technology team, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a fully digital, end-to-end cash trading experience by streamlining and digitizing workflows across the Execution Services platform—including trading, research, and operations. You'll oversee complex projects and governance activities, including planning, reporting, and financial management, while supporting analytical approaches that enhance project delivery. You'll build and maintain strong relationships with clients, senior management, and project managers, providing regular status updates and progress reports to manage expectations around scope and timelines. Your work will help strengthen client loyalty in a highly competitive cash equities market by delivering seamless, differentiated client experiences across the entire trade lifecycle. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure digital-first interactions for internal stakeholders, while preserving flexibility for clients to engage with human agents for sales, trading, and settlement inquiries.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You'll Succeed

  • Project Management – Oversee multiple workstreams and dependencies concurrently, coordinating approvals related to data usage, access controls, and licensing. Assess and improve team practices, ensuring all API, data, and interface dependencies are documented and aligned with enterprise standards. Monitor finances, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Delivery Focus – Work closely with internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage projects to agreed timelines. Understand integration impacts and support hands-on technical implementation, applying enterprise architecture principles for system integration and data flow between in-house and vendor applications.
  • Collaboration – Guide and mentor teams toward shared goals, helping internal partners make informed decisions about programs, products, and services. Negotiate deliverables and milestones as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Project Coordination – Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering, architecture, data security, and vendor teams. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, monitor milestones, and ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Relationship Management – Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners to foster alignment and support project success.

Who You Are

Experience with project management and issue management tools like Planview, Confluence, and JIRA is required.
