We’re actively seeking a talented Sr. Project Manager II - Release Train Engineer / Workstream Lead to join our Finance & Actuarial Projects PMO Team in Charlotte, NC.

This role is a senior delivery leader responsible for orchestrating end-to-end execution across one or more complex Finance and Actuarial workstreams. This role ensures predictable, high-quality delivery by aligning multiple teams, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving disciplined execution within Agile, hybrid, or scaled delivery models.

Operating with broad autonomy, the RTE / Workstream Lead serves as the primary integrator between Finance, Actuarial, Technology, and Operations, balancing delivery flow, governance, and risk management. The role emphasizes systems thinking, servant leadership, and data-driven decision-making to enable business value realization in a regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Workstream & Program Delivery Leadership

  • Own and manage end-to-end delivery for assigned Finance and Actuarial workstreams across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated workstream roadmaps, milestone plans, and dependency maps aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Coordinate execution across multiple projects, Agile teams, and functional groups to ensure cohesive delivery outcomes.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks, capacity constraints, and trade-offs; drive timely decision-making to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Ensure workstream outcomes align to business value, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.

Agile Release & Flow Management

  • Lead and facilitate key delivery cadences including PI Planning, quarterly planning, release planning, and cross-team synchronization.
  • Manage inter-team dependencies, sequencing, and integration points to optimize flow and reduce delivery friction.
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure backlogs are aligned, prioritized, and delivery-ready.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery predictability, throughput, and quality using Agile and Lean metrics.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the primary point of accountability for workstream-level delivery status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Actuarial, IT, Data, and Operations leaders to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and enable execution.
  • Facilitate effective decision-making across mid- to senior-level stakeholders, providing transparency into trade-offs and impacts.
  • Translate complex delivery data into clear, executive-ready communication.

Planning, Governance & Risk Management

  • Lead integrated planning activities including capacity planning, demand intake, dependency coordination, and release forecasting.
  • Own workstream-level RAID management; proactively identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO, Agile, and enterprise governance standards while avoiding unnecessary process overhead.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and compliance needs by ensuring delivery artifacts and controls are maintained.

Metrics, Reporting & Tools

  • Define, track, and report on key delivery metrics such as predictability, throughput, dependency health, and risk trends.
  • Produce executive-level dashboards and status reporting that clearly communicate progress, risks, and decisions needed.
  • Ensure accurate and disciplined use of delivery tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) for work items, backlogs, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Use data to identify systemic delivery issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The experience you bring:

  • 8–12+ years of experience leading complex initiatives across Finance, Actuarial, and Technology domains.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-team delivery efforts, programs, or large workstreams in Agile or hybrid environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to manage complex dependencies, competing priorities, and senior stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, and facilitation skills with a focus on flow and value delivery.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with delivery and reporting tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience serving as a Release Train Engineer, Program Manager, or Workstream Lead in a scaled Agile environment (e.g., SAFe).
  • Familiarity with Finance and Actuarial platforms such as Prophet, Oracle Cloud EPM, or Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, data platforms, integrations, and enterprise financial systems.
  • SAFe certifications (RTE, SPC) or equivalent scaled Agile credentials.
  • PMP or equivalent project/program management certification.
