Engineering and Engineering ServicesJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides direction and assistance in the preparation of capital estimates, budgets, scope
documents and schedule data for proposed or approved projects.
2. Develop assigned projects:
a. Takes assigned concepts (sustaining, improvement, or EHS driven)
and clearly outlines objective and alternate solutions, determines
requirements and justification and reviews with customers.
b. Leads review and evaluation of various alternates with stakeholders to
develop projected project path.
3. Ensures all aspects of projects are defined and executed in a legal, safe and
environmentally-responsible manner.
4. Provides project management which includes focusing on projects related to design,
construction, and maintenance while ensuring that the projects are well defined and
appropriately managed to achieve business value, detailed design, procurement,
contracting, permitting, execution, status reporting and management.
5. Reviews technical specifications required for projects. Provides technical support to
operations and maintenance within area of expertise.
6. Leads procurement efforts and specifies equipment and components used in process
equipment. Works with internal engineering staff and managers to ensure
deliverables are on time and in compliance.
7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
8. Work with operations and manufacture personnel to successfully ensure project
implementations and start-ups.
SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENTS WILL HAVE:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET accredited university required. Mechanical or Chemical degrees are preferred, but open to Civil, Electrical or Construction Management with applicable experience.
• Minimum10 years process engineering experience in chemical process industry is desired.
•Successful candidate would be skilled in process modeling; application of unit operations;
development of process flow diagrams; piping and instrument diagrams; process
equipment specification and process hazard analysis.
•Hands-on experience in a chemical production unit.
•Proficient in computer use within a Windows environment and experience using Microsoft’s
suite of business applications; Word, Excel and Outlook.
•Good interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work as a team player.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Both informal and formal project
written documentation will be required.
•Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to management.
POSITION SCOPE/CONTRIBUTION:
The Senior Project Engineer will use in-house and outside resources to ensure that projects are planned and executed within budgeted cost and completed within schedule. The Sr. Project Engineer will manage the execution of engineering design, procurement, construction and installation of capital projects in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives with appropriate emphasis on EHS and PSM. The engineer will insure accurate cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting and reporting of assigned projects while working with plant staff and managers to ensure the direction of the project including definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables is appropriate and also acts as a technical resource in area of expertise (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
