Position Title: Senior Product Owner
Position Summary:
The Senior Product Owner serves as a strategic leader of the POD, balancing business outcomes and technical delivery to maximize the value of financial and digital banking products and services. This role acts as a bridge between business strategy and technology execution, ensuring that product roadmaps align with organizational goals, member needs, and market dynamics. The Product Owner is accountable for execution of the strategy for product, for defining and maintaining the 1-year product roadmap, the release plan, backlog, and priorities within the POD. Serve as the bridge between vision and technical execution.
This role serves as the single point of accountability for the product—owning the roadmap and backlog—while leveraging the expertise of stakeholders across Product Management, Member Experience (MX), and User Experience (UX,) Technology, Operations, and Sales, to align solutions with member needs, market demands, and achieve business objectives.
The Senior Product Owner partners closely with Product Managers, Member Experience (MX), User Experience (UX), Compliance, and Technology teams to define, refine, and deliver solutions that enhance member engagement, streamline operations, and drive sustainable growth.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:
Accountable for product roadmap and performance across member experience, operational impact, and financial outcomes.
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through delivery, optimization, and retirement, ensuring alignment with member needs, business strategy, and regulatory and compliance requirements.
Lead collaborative discussions with internal stakeholders, including MX, UX, Product Management, Operations, and Technology, to define the "why" and "what" of the product while supporting the "how" through Agile delivery teams.
Translate market insights, member feedback, and organizational objectives into product roadmaps and prioritized product backlog, focusing on features that deliver measurable value.
Evangelizes product roadmap to ensure alignment across the organization.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) for product success; use data to inform decision-making and iteration.
Author user stories, features, and acceptance criteria following Agile methodology best practices that reflect member value and technical feasibility and cover both functional and non-functional requirements.
Build process maps and workflows and partner with MX to define member/user journeys that depict the expected experience and interactions between users, systems, and processes, identify improvement opportunities for seamless users experience and operational efficiencies.
Support testing of new and enhanced product features and accepts deliverables when aligned with the definition of done.
Monitor features post-deployment incorporating insights from member feedback, analytics, and operational data to inform future iterations.
Actively engage in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, and team retrospectives, ensuring a steady flow of prioritized, well-defined work.
Support compliance, risk, and security teams by ensuring requirements and solutions align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within agile teams and across stakeholder groups.
Serve as a mentor to other Product Owners, sharing best practices, guiding product strategy, and promoting collaboration across teams.
Stay informed on trends in digital banking, financial services, and technology innovation, applying insights to inform product strategy.
