Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer that solves complex Metrology issues. In this role, you will lead a team of Metrology engineers and technicians to implement new procedures, methods and processes that ensure precise and repeatable measurements. These efforts will be critical to maintaining the accuracy and precision of Raytheon products for commercial and aerospace applications. Additionally, you will be responsible for enhancing existing processes and systems through advanced conceptualization, reasoning and interpretation.
What You will Do
Lead a team of Metrology engineers and calibration technicians in supporting high-precision electrical measurement, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
Develop strategic initiatives aimed at improving measurement capabilities and calibration processes.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on RF and microwave calibration techniques and processes.
Analyze measurement systems and error sources to identify areas for improvement, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and management teams to enhance test equipment configuration, quality, repeatability, and measurement traceability.
Evaluate written calibration procedures, laboratory methods, processes, and capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement.
Oversee the development of automated calibration procedures using various programming languages for measuring and test equipment.
Create uncertainty analyses for calibration procedures and measurements to ensure accuracy and precision.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
Experience in a design, manufacturing, and/or engineering environment, centering on Metrology.
Experience with radio frequency “RF” and microwave measurement fundamentals.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF)
Qualifications We Prefer
Understanding and practical application of ISO 17025:2017 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 standards.
Software and programming experience, including both development and implementation. (Fluke METCAL, C, C++, Python , Java)
Knowledge of calibration quality standards and best practices.
Experience with lab test equipment and test automation (GPIB, LAN).

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
