Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Software Analyst – Verification Test Engineer (26-193) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is an essential part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a critical operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both worldwide and locally, to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities. The successful candidate will work with the C2BMC Regional Applications Analysis team.
Essential Functions:
Lead RAAN team efforts to verify C2BMC requirements
Oversee the collection, processing, scheduling, delivery, and maintenance of all test data
Develop test methodologies, identify test scenarios, and present clear results
Verification liaison to C2BMC Product Teams, senior leadership, MDA customers, and technical SMEs
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
This position is on-site with no remote options
Experience creating and executing verification test plans for complex systems, including requirement tracking and result reporting
Skilled at evaluating software against requirements and design specifications using both automated testing tools and manual techniques
Basic programming skills to write and debug scripts that automate data collection and test execution
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent written and verbal communication of technical concepts
Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable thriving in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience authoring Development, Test, Acceptance, and Production (DTAP) procedures, particularly for timing/latency verification
Familiarity with missile defense battle management, sensor tracking, intercept engagements, space domain awareness, or command-and-control systems
Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain tools in MATLAB, Bash, Java, Python, or similar languages
Version control using Git/GitLab for software verification tasks
Hands-on verification work using database queries, spreadsheets, and data analysis techniques
Ability to apply statistical methods and visualizations to analyze system trends, behaviors, and test results
Experience working on cross-functional Agile Scrum teams; proficiency with JIRA and Confluence

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
