We are looking for a Sr. Principal Process Modeling Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Sr. Director, Development Engineering.

Location: This position will be fully Onsite based in San Jose, CA

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead development of system models and process modeling studies for Bloom products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams for product development, from concept to production.
  • Work with Marketing and Sales for product feasibility, product definition/development.
  • Utilize system model in defining/adapting P & ID diagrams and component requirements.
  • Identify product performance improvement via process modeling or general process engineering and optimize design as well as operating criteria.
  • Provide guidance on process modeling to the team.
  • Interface with outside consultants/agencies for partnership for product/site needs.
  • Drive engineering tests for system performance validation and characterization.
  • Provide updates on system modeling results to cross functional teams on a regular basis.

Skills and Experience:

  • MS or PhD in Chemical engineering with deep understanding of process engineering.
  • 10 years of industry experience in process modeling in product development.
  • Must be an expert user of Aspen Plus – especially Calculator blocks and Equation Oriented Solution Tools and Techniques.  Aspen Custom Modeler experience or EES experience is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly define engineering problems.
  • Skilled in translating product features and applications to models.
  • Ability to make decisions on key technical issues in a demanding, fast paced environment.
  • Must be familiar with CFD analysis and be able to integrate component level CFD studies into system models.
  • Be comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Ranges:

$188,600.00 - $271,400.00
