Introduction
The Senior Principal Manager, SoC Physical Design leads and inspires an experienced engineering organization responsible for delivering custom integrated circuits from concept to high‑volume production. In this role, you will propose competitive technical and execution strategies to senior leadership and drive realization of complex SoCs with precision, predictability, and operational excellence. You will uphold strong design‑reuse methodologies, ensuring rapid turnaround through physical design flows and maintaining industry‑benchmark efficiency, quality, and innovation metrics.
Your Job
Define, own, and drive all phases of Physical Design for custom SoCs with minimal supervision
Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing engineering team.
Provide strategic stakeholder management, partnering closely with PMO and cross‑functional leaders to ensure alignment, prioritization, and execution clarity.
Collaborate extensively with internal and external engineering functions including Design, DV, DFT, Packaging, Power Architecture, IP teams, and foundry partners.
Set ambitious PPAS targets and articulate clear, innovative pathways to achieve them.
Champion AI/ML‑driven and next‑generation EDA tools, flows, and methodologies, leading their development, rollout, and organization‑wide adoption.

Perform all activities in a safe, responsible manner and fully support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
18+ years of industry experience, including: 4+ years in people leadership, and 12+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
Proven experience delivering custom silicon from concept through samples for specialized business units.
Deep hands‑on expertise across NPI for custom SoCs, including:
Define constraints, margins, analyze if any of such; Synthesis, Place‑and‑Route, Physical Verification, STA, EMIR and Reliability analysis
Experience with foundry technology bring‑up, IP benchmarking, technical proposal evaluation, Signoff reviews and driving IP assessments, quality and integration specifics
Strong ability to lead and resolve dependencies across highly interdependent functions including Design, DV, Packaging, and Power Architecture.
High proficiency with Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens/Mentor EDA toolchains
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex timing, power, and physical integration challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in DFT, test coverage improvement, test‑cost reduction, and managing the full path from Tapeout to high‑volume manufacturing (HVM).
Inspirational leadership style with a strong track record of mentoring high‑performance teams.
