Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to join our location in Baltimore, Maryland. This will be a full-time, 100% on-site position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supplier Quality risk management to ensure supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance
  • Act as the interface with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Conduct product and process verification activities, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues
  • Keep management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks
  • Coordinate and oversee Supplier Management Plan implementation through all program phases
  • Manage implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs
  • Drive affordability through monitoring of budget and spending of labor hours and applicable costs
  • Travel to suppliers as required to foster a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around engagement, problem solving, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the “voice for quality” and a role model for NG Values

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum of 8 years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing OR a Master’s degree in any discipline and a Bachelors degree in STEM and 6+ years of work experience in quality and/or manufacturing
  • US Citizenship
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities
  • Defense industry experience, including interfacing with suppliers
  • Experience in a quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing role
  • SAP Business System experience
  • Current active DoD SECRET clearance, or higher
  • Certification in J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, 610, 620 or Mil-Std-883
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9102 Quality Management System certification process

Primary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
