Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for an Internal Only: Sr Principal Computer Operations Analyst – C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) (26-128) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Located in Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

 

Position Overview:

 

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key operational system within the Missile Defense System. It enables U.S. leadership to plan and manage missile defense operations, monitor battles, and control networked sensors and weapons globally. C2BMC supports layered missile defense, enhancing threat response across all flight phases, and plays a critical role in tests demonstrating missile defense capabilities.

 

The C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) reports to the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) Operations Lead and is responsible for the daily oversight and guidance of more than 125 personnel (including 24/7 crew filling CCC positions and globally dispersed assets), following overarching directives and objectives. The CWO oversees and manages all C2BMC operations, including monitoring and reporting on the health and status of the global C2BMC enterprise. They supervise C2BMC Operations & Maintenance (O&M), network monitoring, and network defense of the C2BMC mission systems. Additionally, they make routine decisions on the operations floor to ensure the availability, quality, and security of services essential to C2BMC mission systems operations, command and control (C2), and information sharing.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Ensure report accuracy, keep leadership informed, recommend actions, and maintain system status at all times.

  • The CWO maintains operations floor integrity, ensures crew members are appropriately trained and certified to perform all assigned missions, ensures shifts are properly manned, and conducts thorough changeover briefings

  • This position requires 24/7 shift work on a rotating 12-hour schedule, set by mission requirements. Substitute rotations during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, are required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills. Must be able to brief senior leaders on complex issues and report system and network status using Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint

  • Experienced in Project Management, Planning, and Resource Management

  • Must have experience leading operations or maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems or networks

  • Must have experience or knowledge in enterprise networks, systems, and cyber defense management

  • Possess sound knowledge and practical experience to assess and develop Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and/or Operating Instructions (OIs), and to administer, operate, and manage services under C2BMC operational control

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Applicants with a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, with the eligibility to be read onto SCI/SAP, are highly preferred

  • Experience in liaising with other DoD Agencies and associated Missile Defense Systems operations/organizations

  • Experience with U.S. Space Force, USSTRATCOM, or working within the space domain

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
