Role Overview
Synechron is seeking a Power BI Developer with strong expertise in SQL/PLSQL and Snowflake to design and deliver enterprise-wide BI, reporting, and analytics solutions. The role requires hands-on experience in data modeling, dashboard development, and working with large-scale data platforms to enable business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets for business and leadership stakeholders.
- Build optimized data models and semantic layers using Power BI (DAX, Power Query).
- Develop and optimize SQL / PLSQL queries to support reporting and analytics requirements.
- Work extensively with Snowflake for data extraction, transformation, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and architects to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and performance across dashboards and reports.
- Follow BI best practices, governance standards, and documentation guidelines.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (Dashboards, Reports, DAX, Power Query).
- Advanced expertise in SQL and PLSQL for complex query development and performance tuning.
- Strong experience working with Snowflake Data Warehouse including schemas, views, and optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
- Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise data sources and cloud platforms.
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines.
- Exposure to Azure / Cloud analytics ecosystem is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of data security, role-based access, and performance best practices in BI solutions.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in BI, analytics, or data engineering roles.
- Proven experience developing enterprise-scale Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Strong background in SQL/PLSQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile or fast-paced environments.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and analytical reports.
- Write and optimize complex SQL/PLSQL queries against Snowflake and other data sources.
- Analyze data quality issues and work with upstream teams to resolve them.
- Support business users with analytics, insights, and ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Ensure reports meet performance, scalability, and governance requirements.
- Continuously improve BI solutions through optimization and best practices.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Certifications in Power BI, Snowflake, or Cloud Analytics are preferred.
