Sr. Pharmacy Technician - Inventory

The Senior Pharmacy Technician supports inventory and fulfillment operations in a Central Fill Pharmacy, ensuring medications are accurately stocked, prepared, and available for patient use. This role works closely with Pharmacists and inventory partners to manage medication flow, maintain accurate records, and support safe, efficient pharmacy operations.

This position is ideal for an experienced pharmacy technician with strong inventory knowledge, attention to detail, and a background in healthcare or pharmacy fulfillment operations.

What You Will Do

  • Receive, store, and organize incoming pharmacy supplies
  • Stock shelves and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Count medication stock and enter updates into inventory systems
  • Replenish medications for sorting, filling, and dispensing
  • Remove and process short‑dated, expiring, or recalled products
  • Coordinate returns of medications to distribution centers
  • Support troubleshooting of dispensing or automation equipment
  • Perform manual picking and data entry as needed
  • Operate automated sorting and counting equipment
  • Fill bottles and automated cells with tablets and capsules
  • Apply and verify labels to ensure accuracy
  • Assist Pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
  • Set up new medications for dispensing as needed
  • Work with client representatives to ensure uninterrupted medication supply
  • Support development and updates of inventory procedures and work instructions
  • Complete other tasks as needed to support inventory and pharmacy operations

Basic Requirements

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience
  • Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
  • Experience handling medication inventory or stock control

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
  • Experience in Central Fill, warehouse, or automated pharmacy environments
  • Strong computer skills, including inventory or pharmacy systems
  • Experience working with automated dispensing or counting equipment
  • Ability to analyze inventory issues and propose solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

  • On‑site role in a Central Fill pharmacy environment
  • Combination of office, automation, and production areas
  • Climate‑controlled workspaces
  • Standing, walking, and light lifting required
  • Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Occasional overtime based on business needs
