As a Senior Quality Engineer – New Product Introduction (NPI), you will be responsible for ensuring the successful launch of new products with zero quality escapes, while continuously improving the quality of existing products. You will lead quality planning, validation, and approval activities during the NPI lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with OEM customer requirements and IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards. This role has the authority to stop launches or production when quality risks are identified and plays a critical role in safeguarding product and process integrity.
Ensure quality deliverables for all new product launches are completed on time and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Lead quality planning activities throughout the NPI process to guarantee safe and robust product launches.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on new products as well as systemic quality improvements.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications and Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949 / ISO 9001) to consistently deliver high-quality products.
Own quality deliverables for New Product Introductions, ensuring readiness for mass production and adherence to customer and internal requirements.
Define and ensure execution of inspection plans, containment plans, and production release criteria for OEM customer launches.
Validate process capability, ensuring minimum Cpk ≥ 1.33 for new products before production approval.
Exercise authority to stop production or delay launches when quality or process risks are identified.
Develop and execute internal and external PPAPs, including approval and coordination with customers.
Lead and support quality improvement projects for new products and systemic quality enhancements.
Support and participate in ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 certifications and audits.
Control the proper use and authorization of external approval marks (UL, CSA, CCC, CQC, etc.) for new products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain) to address engineering changes, product and process modifications.
Approve quality and technical documentation within ARAS / PRISM systems related to NPI activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Industrial, Mechanical, or related).
3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and/or New Product Introduction within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience with APQP, PPAP, Core Tools, and Quality Management Systems.
Solid knowledge of statistical tools, SPC, capability analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
Proven experience managing engineering, process, and product changes.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Green Belt Six Sigma certification preferred or demonstrated practical application.
Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing.
Strong decision-making skills with the confidence to hold production or launches to protect product quality.
Experience working directly with OEM customers in regulated manufacturing environments.
Prior involvement in customer or third-party audits.
Experience approving product specifications and defining critical characteristics in prototype and pilot phases.
Familiarity with certification and compliance requirements for UL, CSA, CCC, CQC, or similar standards.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to drive quality-first decisions.
Continuous improvement mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
