How will you make an impact?

As a Senior Network Engineer you will relied on for in-depth knowledge of networking and operational practices to develop the technical tactics and strategies used to build and maintain our network globally and providing leadership to your peers. The candidate will collaborate with business partners, project managers, infrastructure operations, architecture, reliability teams and vendors to define, build, and automate future networking solutions. This will enable faster, scalable deployment and management, globally. You will help develop the standards, metrics, and validation procedures of new solutions required to support our ecosystem of manufacturing, mobile devices, end user equipment, and workstations. You will serve a crucial role in the implementation and configuration of new & existing network components, implementation of network upgrades, testing of new products, and design and automation of workflows. You will also play a critical role in mentoring and developing your teammates and peers. This role will be a key part of a multifunctional team that plans, designs, implements, and secures the underlying infrastructure.

What will you do?

· Working directly with business partners to understand their business requirements and ensure networking projects are properly designed and implemented.

· Identify, design, implement and document networking solutions that meet business needs and organizational standards.

· Asses existing network infrastructure to ensure business needs are met, supportability is maintained, and future growth is accommodated.

· Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to business and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost optimized network infrastructure.

· Provide expert knowledge and insight for problems that involve networking technologies to resolve customer issues, identify root causes, develop and document corrective actions.

· Participate in the evaluation new technologies, execution of proof of concept (PoC) initiatives, run book definitions, and pilot deployment.

· Asses, design, implement, and improve a global network environment to include routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, F5s and more.

· Discover opportunities to improve our enterprise network identifying improvements to the network standards and documentation that have been established by the Global Networking team.

· Collaborate with the network architects on large scale, business imperative projects and initiatives to optimize the enterprise network.

· Write, implement, and maintain software to address network management and monitoring tasks, including:

· Deploying and auditing configuration of network devices

· Monitoring network health, including metrics collection, visualization, and alerting

· Tracking network utilization over time to assist planning models

· Participate in the on-call rotation with other members of the team to ensure support coverage for the global enterprise network.

· Report project status on a regular basis to ensure that management is aware

· Mentor junior members of the team in order to build a stronger and self-sufficient organization.

· Manage the assigned Jira project queue and status.

· Provide small team leadership

How will you get here?

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or other technical field is desired, though 7+ years of direct and applicable professional experience in configuring, deploying, operating and solving issues related to network devices will be considered

· Excellent knowledge of IT general practices and methods with specialized knowledge in multiple technical disciplines such as cloud, networking, software design, and automation.

· 5+ years practical meaningful experience in large-scale networking engineering and operations.

· Well versed knowledge of WAN routing (BGP), traffic engineering, QoS, telemetry, and segmentation.

· Experience with Load Balancers, Firewalls, and/or VPN Concentrators.

· Experience with routing and switching (Cisco, Arista) technologies within large, complex enterprise networks.

· Hands on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Silver Peak/Aruba, and F5 products and services.

· Excellent knowledge of Networking and Wireless standards, with an emphasis on Cisco.

· Hands on experience working on an IOT network.

· Hands on experience with and knowledge of network segmentation.

· Solid grasp of automating in Python or other languages.

· Experience with SD-WAN deployment and management.

· Ability to work in a team while still being self-sufficient.

· Experience with managing small project teams a plus.

Tool & Technology Skills

· Telco: WAN connectivity, LAN connectivity, Fixed Wireless, Colocation services,

· OSS/BSS: Service Now, Jira, TEM systems.

· Network: Networking, SD-WAN, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VPN, Firewalls, Router, Switch, Load Balancer.

· Product: Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Silver Peak/Aruba, Arista.

· Automation: Python, Cisco DNA Center, Ansible, and/or NetBrain

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

· Current certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar highly desirable.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
