And, while we offer great benefits and perks like larger tech companies, our employees have the independence to make a larger impact on the company and take ownership of their work. Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.
Role Overview:
Lead the design and operation of a resilient, large-scale Cisco-based enterprise network that spans campus, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud connectivity, driving measurable improvements in availability, performance, and security. At Genesys, we are transforming the customer experience landscape with empathy, AI innovation, and global impact, and this role directly influences how our global teams and customers connect and operate. You will own end-to-end technical outcomes for your domain, partner with Staff and Principal engineers on architecture decisions, and mentor developing engineers to raise operational standards. This role supports a globally distributed environment and requires clear technical collaboration in English across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and operate enterprise WAN and SD-WAN architectures, including segmentation using VPNs and VRFs.
Implement and optimize control, data, and management plane policies to improve stability and performance.
Lead branch migrations from traditional WAN to Cisco SD-WAN and define DIA and application-aware routing strategies.
Design, tune, and troubleshoot BGP (eBGP/iBGP) and OSPF (multi-area) to meet failover and path selection objectives.
Implement high-availability designs using HSRP, VRRP, ECMP, and IP SLA-based failover mechanisms.
Design and operate Cisco Catalyst 9000 switching platforms and Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers, including RF optimization and roaming.
Implement secure wireless architectures integrated with ISE (802.1X, profiling) and support wireless modernization and site surveys.
Operate and optimize Cisco Firepower NGFW environments managed via FMC, including access policies, NAT, IPS, and VPNs.
Develop automation and tooling using Ansible and Python, and integrate with Cisco APIs, DNAC, SD-WAN analytics, and telemetry sources.
Leverage telemetry (streaming telemetry, NetFlow, SNMP) and observability tools to reduce MTTD and MTTR and to validate AI-driven insights.
Correlate data across Cisco platforms, ThousandEyes, and firewall telemetry to distinguish systemic issues from isolated incidents.
Translate AI-generated recommendations into actionable remediation plans and influence adoption of AIOps across the network engineering function.
Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and cross-functional forums while maintaining accurate operational documentation.
Required Qualifications:
Hold 6 to 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
Possess CCNP or equivalent professional certification.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking platforms, including Catalyst 9000 series and Catalyst 9800 WLC.
Have deep expertise in BGP and OSPF design and troubleshooting in production environments.
Possess proven experience with Cisco SD-WAN and branch migration strategies.
Show hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower NGFW and Cisco ISE for wired and wireless 802.1X deployments.
Bring practical automation experience using Ansible or Python and experience interfacing with Cisco APIs (RESTCONF, NETCONF, SD-WAN APIs).
Be experienced in connecting networks to cloud environments such as AWS and Azure and supporting multi-region/global operations.
Demonstrate working knowledge of ITIL principles, incident and change management, and ServiceNow.
Communicate effectively in professional English for daily global collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hold CCNP Enterprise with Enterprise Automation focus (ENAUTO-300-425) or similar advanced credentials.
Have prior experience supporting 24/7 globally distributed teams and on-call operational models.
Demonstrate methodical problem-solving, clear written and verbal communication, and a strong ownership mindset.
Show experience validating and operationalizing AI-assisted network insights and automation workflows.
