GENERAL FUNCTION:
Working under minimal supervision, develops and performs complex testing of various types on information systems software to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and requirements. Coordinate systems-related projects for the Residential Mortgage line of business.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under minimal supervision, conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
- Executes complex tests according to established plans and scripts, documents problems in an issue log, and retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved.
- Creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly validate program logic and verify system flow.
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies.
- Plan and schedule software testing.
- Coordinate Quality Assurance/Software Testing initiatives as they are developed.
- Develop and update QA/Software Testing documentation in an efficient and timely manner according to departmental standards and procedures.
- Within appropriate timeframes, answer user's inquiries via telephone or e-mail concerning system problems; diagnose system problems; and recommend remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
- Perform analysis of issues or defects reported and exercise appropriate judgment in escalating problems of a more complex nature to more senior staff and/or Information Technology.
- Interface extensively with end users, management, and Information Technology in the resolution or escalation of Mortgage Systems problems.
- Gather and define business requirements.
- Assist Information Technology with the development of functional requirements.
- Develop of detailed project plans, work assignments, target dates, and other tasks required throughout the project coordination process.
- Mentor and train more junior employees.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of the business justification for the changes being tested.
- Responsible for looking at separate tests holistically, identifying both synergies and conflicts.
- Responsible for quality of the Empower and Lending Space system functionality
- Responsible for executing the most complex testing requirements.
- Interface with the Third Party software vendor to discuss and triage issues.
- Challenge Third Party software vendor to ensure system quality.
- Responsible for the testing and support of Empower and Lending Space System conversion requests.
- Leads the troubleshooting of production support defects.
- Validates complex release content in production.
- Gathers and documents requirements for more complex system requests.
- Within appropriate timeframes, answer user's inquiries via telephone or e-mail concerning system problems; diagnose system problems; and recommend remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
- Maintains a current knowledge of business process flow and usage of the system.
- Assists in creating and/or enhancing test plans and scripts as needed.
- Responsible for understanding current business processes, and use cases.
- Ability to execute complex tests with minimal test scripting.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum of five years of experience with quality assurance and software testing methodology, cycle and tools.
- Intermediate Knowledge of Lending Space and/or Empower
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic programming knowledge is helpful.
- Minimum of one year of experience with Microsoft office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Possess a thorough understanding of business systems, processes and industry requirements.
- Deadline and task-driven with ability to multi task and be flexible.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills.
