Primary Responsibilities
- Sub-Contractor Engagement: Evaluate and appoint sub-contractors and sub-contracting companies based on project requirements.
- Pre-Employment Compliance: Facilitate medical check-ups and ensure initial statutory compliance for sub-contractors and their workforce.
- Candidate Screening: Review and approve candidates proposed by sub-contractors for deployment. Organize to issue / renew ID Card
- Training Coordination: Collaborate with relevant departments to organize safety and technical training; ensure readiness of employees for assigned tasks.
- Agreement Management: Monitor and ensure timely renewal of agreements with sub-contractor companies.
- Safety Awareness: Strong focus on safety protocols and ensuring compliance with Otis regulations.
- Policy Implementation: Coordinate with field teams to implement company policies; manage issuance, renewal, and upgrade of identity cards and certifications for sub-contractors and their employees.
- PPE Oversight: Ensure to maintain adequate stock and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and organize of issue to sub-contractor and debit the cost to them
- Statutory Compliance Monitoring:
- Verify maintenance of attendance records at job sites.
- Ensure payment of minimum wages as per applicable local laws.
- Confirm regular PF and ESIC deductions and remittances to statutory authorities.
- Client Coordination: Visit client sites to address and resolve compliance or statutory concerns.
- Training Documentation: Ensure sub-contractors conduct regular safety and technical training and maintain proper records.
- Process Audits: Conduct periodic audits of sub-contractor processes and employee practices.
- Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess sub-contractor performance and monitor corrective action plans.
- Audit Support: Actively participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Other Requirements
- Sub-Contractor Engagement: Organize regular meetings with sub-contractors to gather feedback and resolve operational issues.
- Retention Strategy: Work proactively to retain sub-contractor employees and minimize attrition.
- Field Team Collaboration: Conduct reviews with field teams and coordinate with sub-contractors to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the industry and specific project requirements to manage subcontractor activities effectively.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues promptly to minimize disruptions to the project.
- Relationship Building: Maintain strong, positive relationships with subcontractors to foster collaboration and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on subcontractor performance, project progress, and any issues encountered. These reports are often shared with senior management or project stakeholders.
- Resource Allocation: Plan and allocate resources efficiently to ensure that subcontractors have the required sites and materials to complete their tasks.
- Leadership Abilities: Ability to lead and motivate subcontractor teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Enhanced Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Coordination with Senior Management
Collaborate closely with the senior management team to understand key operational and compliance-related issues. Translate strategic directives into actionable plans and ensure effective execution at the field level through structured engagement with sub-contractors. - Sub-Contractor & Workforce Sourcing
Proactively coordinate with multiple sub-contractor agencies to identify, evaluate, and onboard new sub-contractors and skilled manpower. Ensure timely mobilization of resources aligned with project timelines and quality standards.
Candidate Profile (For New Hiring)
- Education: Graduate with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience: 10–15 years of overall experience. Previous experience in the elevator industry, particularly in project or subcontractor management, is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint
- Core Competencies:
- Strong commitment to process compliance
- Upholds ethical practices in all dealings
- Knowledge of Government Compliance and Statutory requirements / BOCW
